What Cluely does well

The core product works. Here's where Cluely genuinely delivers:

• Meeting summaries. Post-call recaps and action item extraction are solid.

Drawbacks and common complaints

1. Screen-share invisibility is a $149.99/month add-on

Cluely markets itself as invisible to screen share, and it does not add a bot to the participant list. But on its own pricing page, being "completely hidden to meeting screen sharing software" is a feature of the Pro + Undetectability tier at $149.99/month. On the free Starter plan and the $19.99 Pro plan, the overlay is an ordinary window that can show up when you share your screen — the one moment where you least want it seen.

2. It is positioned as a cheating tool

Cluely's "cheat on everything" brand is memorable, but it has a cost. Many interview processes and employers explicitly prohibit undisclosed AI assistance, and using a product whose whole pitch is going undetected puts you on the wrong side of those rules if it comes out. Real-time meeting help is legitimate in plenty of contexts; the framing matters.

3. Cloud processing and stored meeting history

Cluely processes your call audio and screen content on its servers, and paid plans include access to past meeting history — so your meeting data is retained in Cluely's cloud. For users at companies with strict data policies, that retention is the part to check in their privacy policy. To be fair: LiveCue also uses cloud providers: audio is streamed to a speech-to-text service and short transcript snippets go to an AI provider to generate cues, but we do not store your meeting audio or transcripts — see our privacy policy.

4. A tightly capped free tier and a steep top tier

The free Starter plan limits AI responses and notetaking enough that most people will need Pro at $19.99/month, and the feature most privacy-conscious users actually want — screen-share invisibility — sits at $149.99/month. That is a large jump for a single capability that LiveCue includes on a $9.99 plan.
